Aberdeen now most expensive Scottish city to rent property
ABERDEEN has overtaken Edinburgh as Scotland's letting hotspot, according to new property figures.
Rental prices in the city have soared and the area has witnessed the highest growth of Scotland's three largest cities in the past year.
Such is the demand for properties that Aberdeen is now the most expensive place in the country to rent a one- or two- bedroom property, according to the rental company Citylets. The report shows the average cost to rent a two-bedroom property in Aberdeen is £788 per month - up 10.3 per cent in the past year.
This compares with £637 in Edinburgh and just £563 to rent the same-sized property in Glasgow.
Renting a one-bedroom property in Aberdeen costs £499 a month - up 18.4 per cent in a year - while the cost in Edinburgh is £494 and Glasgow £434.
